Reusable Lunch Containers

School is still a couple of months away but I’ve already begun doing some research in reusable lunch options. I want to say no to disposable plastic. I’m thinking it’s a good idea to start the search early, I can peruse the variety of products that are out there and begin collecting some recipes/ideas as to just what I’ll be packing.

There are many choices available so I’ve been compiling a list which I’m happy to share. I’ll most likely be mixing and matching with a variety of reusable sandwich/snack bags as well as a few containers for more messy foods like yogurt and dips. My main concern is durability — I’m hoping to not replace things year after year, but price is also a concern. And I’ll also be using these for my lunches as well! Some of these are on-line shops but I’ve included places where you can look online but hopefully there’s a store near you that you can walk or bike to.

Target has a nice selection
Easylunchboxes
containerstore.com
Oompa: (Many of these I’ve seen at Whole Foods)
Ecolunchboxes
Laptoplunches
Lands’ End: I see that Lands End has a nice selection of matching eco-friendly options (though it’s not organized very well) and you can get them personalized.

How to Make Laundry Soap

Laundry Soap Ingredients

Making your own laundry soap is so cheap and easy you’ll be wondering why it took you so long to get around to it. All you need are 3 simple ingredients which you can buy at the grocery store. Borax, Washing Soap and a bar of soap to grate–that’s the hardest part! Once it’s all mixed together all you need to do is add 1 tablespoon into the washer. Yes, 1 tablespoon!
